FUNNY GIRL!

If you could not tell from the title of my blog, I am an avid lover of Funny Girl. More than anything, I love Barbra Streisand! The woman has the most spectacular voice, and I simply cannot get enough of it! From Funny Girl, to Hello Dolly!, to Yentil, to What's Up Doc?; I absolutely adore the woman. But out of all things Barbra, Funny Girl takes the lead. I can watch Funny Girl over and over and over again, and never get sick of it. I sing and quote along word for word. And still, each time I watch I find myself tearing up when Fanny sings 'My Man' at the very end. I find certain similarities between myself and Fanny, and I think that makes it all the more personal and deep to me. Often people will find me listening or singing to the Funny Girl soundtrack. The entire soundtrack is basically all in my 25 Most Played songs on ITunes- 'I'm the Greatest Star' and 'Don't Rain on My Parade' top the list at #1 and #2. I have 'I'm the Greatest Star' memorized word for word, and can sing it perfectly from memory. I am known to sing it to my cousins as I lull them to sleep when I babysit. I am mesmerized by Funny Girl, and the lovely Barbra; I simply cannot get enough.
